Lodestar Analytics (“we”, “our”, “us”) provides ecommerce analytics tools for Shopify merchants. We are committed to protecting your data and being transparent about how information is collected, used, and stored. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you install or use our Shopify app.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Shopify Account Information

When you install our app, Shopify provides us with:

• Shop name and domain
• Shop owner contact information
• Plan information
• Access tokens used to communicate with the Shopify API

1.2 Store Data (via Shopify APIs and Webhooks)

To provide analytics, forecasting, attribution, and reporting features, our app securely receives the following store data:

• Orders (including line items, totals, timestamps, discount information)
• Customers (non-sensitive profile fields)
• Products and variants
• Inventory levels
• Refunds, fulfillments, and cancellations
• Marketing attribution data you upload or connect (e.g., campaign tags)

We do not collect or store payment information, full customer addresses, or sensitive financial data.

1.3 Analytics Data

We collect usage information such as:

• Features accessed
• Performance metrics
• Error logs

1.4 Optional Integrations

If you enable integrations (e.g., marketing spend imports), we store only the data required to provide the requested functionality.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected data to:

• Provide revenue, SKU, forecasting, and attribution analytics
• Display dashboards and insights inside the Lodestar Analytics app
• Improve accuracy of forecasting models
• Monitor app performance and reliability
• Provide support and resolve issues

We do not sell or rent your data to any third parties.

3. How We Store and Protect Data

Your data is stored on secure AWS infrastructure, including:

• Aurora PostgreSQL (encrypted at rest)
• AWS ECS (secure app runtime)
• S3 and CloudFront for static assets

All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS 1.2+.

Access to store data is strictly limited to the services required for analytics and is protected by authentication and role-based security controls.

4. Data Retention

We retain store data for as long as you use the app. If you uninstall the app, all associated store data is automatically deleted within 48 hours.

5. Sharing of Information

We only share data with:

• AWS (cloud hosting provider)
• Shopify, as required by the Shopify App Store

We do not share your information with advertisers or unrelated third parties.

6. GDPR, CCPA, and Merchant Rights

Your rights include:

• Right to access your data
• Right to correct inaccurate data
• Right to request deletion
• Right to data portability

We process personal data only for legitimate business purposes related to analytics and functionality inside the app.

7. Uninstalling the App

When you uninstall Lodestar Analytics from Shopify, Shopify automatically revokes our access token. We immediately remove your data associated with:

• Orders
• Customers
• Products
• Forecasting history
• Attribution mappings

Full deletion occurs within 48 hours.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to improve clarity or to comply with Shopify platform requirements. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Effective Date.”
